Who I am
Laurent Garrigues · Former VP Portfolio Management, AVEVA/OSIsoft
I’m a product and portfolio executive with more than twenty-five years in industrial software, SaaS, IIoT, and digital transformation. I work across market structure, portfolio architecture, technical dependencies, commercial models, roadmap sequencing, and organizational capacity.
My job is to reduce that complexity to the few choices the team must make. Clarity isn’t just what I deliver. It’s how I work.

How I can help
Product and portfolio problems rarely belong to one function. They sit between customer demand, portfolio architecture, investment logic, technical dependencies, organizational capacity, and delivery reality.
I make the trade-offs visible, narrow the field, and help the team act.
What I bring to the work
Every engagement draws on a different combination of strategic perspective, operating experience, and hands-on support. My work typically spans three complementary areas.
Clarify the choice. Turn it into action. Align the people who must carry it forward.
Strategic Advisory
- Portfolio strategy, strategic options, and decision framing
- Product vision, AI opportunity framing, portfolio architecture, and platform boundaries
- Market segmentation, positioning, and value proposition
- Investment allocation, build-partner-buy decisions, scenario modeling, and lifecycle rationalization
- M&A, investment readiness, and due diligence
Execution Support
- Roadmap decomposition, dependency mapping, and prioritization
- AI initiative sequencing, evaluation, governance, and commercialization
- Portfolio governance, decision rights, and investment review cadences
- Product operating models, KPI trees, and outcome tracking
- Offer design, pricing, go-to-market readiness, and launch sequencing
- SaaS transformation and recurring-revenue transitions
Alignment & Facilitation
- Executive offsites and portfolio decision forums
- Cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, sales, and finance
- OKR architecture and decision-process design
- Product leadership coaching and mentoring
- Internal product and portfolio capability building
Ways to work together
The work is tailored, but most engagements take one of three forms. Each may draw from one or several of the areas above, depending on the decision and the level of involvement required.
Focused Strategic Work
A defined engagement centered on one consequential product, portfolio, market, or AI decision—or a tightly connected set of decisions. I frame the issue, examine the evidence, surface the trade-offs, align the right stakeholders, and translate the decision into a practical path forward.
Bring one important decision to resolution.
Ongoing Advisory
Regular access to an experienced outside perspective as leaders navigate a sequence of interconnected choices. I provide continuity, independent challenge, and a consistent strategic lens across portfolio, architecture, commercial models, roadmaps, and execution.
Keep decisions coherent as conditions change.
Fractional Leadership
A sustained, part-time operating role with meaningful responsibility for direction, governance, alignment, and follow-through. It fits organizations that need senior product or portfolio leadership, but not necessarily another permanent executive.
Add leadership depth where the organization needs it most.
AI is changing both software and the way software gets made.
Agentic workflows, AI-assisted development, new commercial models, and changing team structures are forcing software leaders to revisit assumptions that once felt settled.
The challenge is not to add AI everywhere. It is to determine where AI creates differentiated customer value, what capabilities the platform must own, and how the product portfolio and organization must evolve.
Build faster. Choose more carefully.
Product management is shifting from producing artifacts and coordinating handoffs toward framing problems, orchestrating human-and-AI workflows, defining evaluation criteria, and exercising judgment under uncertainty.
Less paperwork. More discernment.
Who I work with
I work with industrial software companies, manufacturing enterprises, and B2B/SaaS companies whose portfolios have outgrown the informal processes that once worked.
The symptoms vary: overlapping offers, competing roadmaps, legacy constraints, unclear platform boundaries, investment logic that is no longer explicit, or functions working from different definitions of success.
Too many priorities. No shared vision to move forward.

My sweet spot: seeing the whole system—and finding the few decisions that matter.
